Tribus Clean Energy designed a 250MW high-quality battery storage project, complete with grid connection, near Kings Lynn in Norfolk.
The design included ensuring that the project had full development rights, appropriate permits and met initial regulatory milestones for grid connections. This involved negotiating with the relevant landowners and other stakeholders.
Once constructed, the site will provide grid balancing services by capturing and storing electricity generated by wind turbines. The capacity of the site enables it to operate for two hours (500MWh), with an anticipated working life of 50 years.
We took the project to the ready-to-build stage before selling it in late 2022.

The Scheme will make an important contribution to the three national energy policy aims
- Net zero and the importance of urgently deploying low-carbon generation assets at scale
- Security of supply (geographically and technologically diverse supplies)
- Affordability and reducing exposure to volatile international markets
